Styling Your Home
Looking Your Best
It's always good to take some time to pick out some outfit options for your family to wear prior to your little one's arrival. Neutral colours are best. Try to avoid logos and images, bold stripes and bright colours. Small patterns can work well for a girl or for Mum. Mum, be sure to pick something you will be comfortable in - a flowing dress or loose-fitting top. Dad and boys - a light top and jeans or something similar, work well. Your family's clothing doesn't have to match, but try to pick neutral tones that compliment each other - pastel colours, white, cream, blush, tan, grey - try to pick lighter tones to compliment baby's skin. Textures always add a lovely element to photos too, such as linen and knit wear.
Styling Your Home
Lifestyle newborn sessions mean you can remain in the comfort of your own home during those busy few weeks of first welcoming your little one into your lives. It allows me to capture natural, relaxed photos while also allowing you to continue doing the things you need to do as a new parent. We will walk through your home and capture moments in all your favourite spots. If you have the chance, a plain or textured bedspread/blanket in the master room in a neutral colour is a great backdrop for some relaxed family photos. If you are breastfeeding, please feel free to continue this throughout the session. If you'd like privacy, I'm happy to step out, or if you're comfortable, I'm happy to capture some of those special moments for you as part of your photo session.
